Firefox posiada obecnie 11 proc. rynku wobec 86 proc. opanowanych przez Explorera. Daleko za nimi w tyle (1 proc.) pozostaje trzecia przeglÄ…darka - Opera, produkowana przez Opera Software ASA.
Nowa wersja Firefoxa zawiera m.in. wzmocnioną ochronę przed hakerami, zintegrowany korektor ortograficzny, funkcję szybkiego odzyskiwania stron internetowych utraconych w przypadku nieprzewidzianej przerwy w pracy komputera oraz możliwość jednoczesnego korzystania z wielu "okienek".
