Przez kilkaset lat w Dolinie Chęcińskiej wydobywano rudy miedzi, ołowiu i srebra. Sporą część tego, co już udało się odkryć można teraz podziwiać w Muzealnej Izbie Górnictwa Kruszcowego. Zwiedzających wita figura gwarka pracującego pod ziemią. W pocie czoła, przy świetle łojowego kaganka, takiego jak używano w średniowieczu. Specyficzna lampa pochodzi z prywatnej kolekcji kustosza muzeum Stanisława Krupy. Są też fotografie, mundury, wiekowe narzędzia, ale i kolorowe malachity, piryty oraz kalcyty.
